Hi, I'm the founder of J-Pawsia β and this is Melon πΆ
I'm a working mom, and most days are a juggling act β school runs, work calls, dinner, repeat. Melon is our 11-year-old Pomeranian, and to my 6-year-old son, he's basically an older brother. They grew up together, and honestly, Melon's put up with a lot of toddler hugs over the years.
As Melon got older, I started worrying about the small things more β how fast he ate, whether he was choking, whether his stomach was okay. I wanted him to feel comfortable and still enjoy his meals. Turns out, finding a bowl that actually did that was harder than I expected, especially with everything else already pulling at my time.
I tried pretty much everything. Ceramic and stainless steel bowls were heavy, clanked around the floor, and did nothing to slow him down. Hard plastic mazes looked like they'd help, but the ridges were so rigid they left his snout sore after a few uses β he'd hesitate before eating, which broke my heart a little. And lick mats? They couldn't hold anything but the thinnest liquids, spilled everywhere, and took forever to scrub clean. One by one, they all ended up shoved in a drawer, unused β one more thing I didn't have time to deal with.
So I made the bowl I actually wanted for him.
It's 100% food-grade soft silicone, so it flexes instead of pressing hard against his face. The walls are deeper and splash-proof, so it can hold real meals β kibble, broth, purees β without turning the floor into a mess. And the shape itself encourages a slower, more engaging mealtime routine.
The cleanup part matters more than I expected too. Between work and a six-year-old, I don't have patience left for scrubbing tight grooves β a quick wipe or a trip through the dishwasher, and it's done.
